Ethical challanges in (pharmaco) genetics
Marija Hiljadnikova-Bajro is an associate professor at the Institute for Applied Biochemistry within the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ss Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje.
She graduated as a Master of Pharmacy in 1998, received her Master of Sciences degree in Molecular Biology and genetic engineering in the field of Molecular Pharmacy in 2003 and a PhD degree in the field of Cancer genetics in 2012.
Her academic appointment encompasses courses at graduate and postgraduate master and PhD studies including: Basic and Clinical Biochemistry, Medicinal poisoning, Natural antitumor agents, Ethical aspects in pharmaceutical research. She is an active member of several national and international professional and scientific associations and reviewer in international scientific journals.
Prof. Hiljadnikova-Bajro has presented her scientific work at numerous international conferences and was twice awarded fellowship by the European Society of Human Genetics. Her research interest is focused on biochemical and genetic mechanisms involved in cancer initiation and progression as well as biomolecular aspects of cancer treatment with an emphasis on the achievements in pharmacogenomics.
